A BIG THANK YOU to all participants in this year’s Charity 7-a-Side Football event in aid of Chance UK. I appreciate how busy working and family life is for everyone and we are, therefore, so grateful that people took a day off to be with us in support of this very important cause.

A BIG THANK YOU also to the Paul Simon Group, the main event sponsors, who assisted wherever possible in the organisation of the event and also to the Jack Petchey Group for their generosity

Lastly, a very special thank you to David Burrowes, MP for Enfield and Southgate, who has once again been fully committed in his support and without whom, the day would not have been possible.

Congratulations to the tournament winners 1123 Limited, who beat the Lint Group on penalties after a 3–3 final whistle deadlock. Very well done to you!

As everyone knows, the purpose of the day was to raise as much money as possible for CHANCE UK.

There are hundreds of children in our society, if not thousands, who rely almost solely on this type of fundraising activity. Without us teaming together to help them, they would simply have no chance in life and no future. Days such as this give them at least some hope, put a smile on their faces and will make an invaluable difference to their lives. I know this because I have seen firsthand over a period of years, as I am sure many of you have, the difference we can all make by giving up a small amount of our time.
